Alaska's law enforcement community sees that the greatest contributing factor to violent crimes, including domestic violence and sexual assault, is alcohol abuse. The legal drinking age in Alaska is 21 and you should expect to be carded (asked for ID) Restaurants sell beer and wine; some have full bars that serve hard liquor. By state law, bars don't have to close until 5am, however many communities close at 2am. Open containers are not allowed in your car.
